Welcome Back Sis, I've Missed You and I've Missed Me Too
How I Do Things, Restoration, Women's Growth
A personal letter and manifesto from Kopano on the new season of How I Do Things.
Welcome Back Sis, I've missed you and I've missed me too
It can be really sad looking back at your life and thinking that the best moments of it are behind you. At the tender age of 35, it would be heartbreaking if that was my reality.
Honey, if you know anything about me, you know that I'm not the type of girl to sit back and settle for less.
I was not built that way.
Nine years ago I started a YouTube channel as a place to continue growing a dream I'd had since I was a little girl. I've always loved creating content, from my blog when I was 17, to my Facebook page that landed my first big brand gig in 2010. The YouTube channel was a natural extension of a content journey that helped me both express myself and build my career in digital too.
Then six years ago, Hubby and I had this crazy idea to start a show. What if I uploaded daily on YouTube? No one else was doing it in SA, but I wanted to be the crazy one to try it. Every day. Big sister conversations, the slightly embarrassing ones, the type my mom and my aunties would have the second they got together and forgot we were sitting right there.
My aunts would say the most outlandish things about their lives, the truth about being working moms, having changing bodies and a thriving sex life.
"You should eat pineapple to smell better for him"
"I heard olives make you feel sexy down there"
and the cherry on top of the cake, "Yoh, I don't even wear that panty anymore, it gets me into trouble."
I loved these conversations but I was obviously too young to relate to their specific examples, and I couldn't find anyone online who I could relate to.
So that became How I Do Things. We spoke about all of it. Relationships, the bedroom, your money, our wins and failures. All of it, for six years.
And then I went quiet, and I owe you the real reason and not the polite one. Yes I had my second baby and it completely rearranged my entire life. I lost my spark. And it took everything out of me to keep showing up as a woman I already knew I wasn't anymore. So I stopped. And the channel went quiet.
So let me say this one properly.
I'm back. Not back to do the same thing all over again.
Back older, wiser, and with a plan I haven't told a single soul until right now.
We've done the relationships and we're always healing. We've continued building the soft life and finding ourselves again. We're all on this continuous journey of growing and becoming. This next part is us not just growing but building something too.
I really believe every woman is walking around with a bigger version of herself inside her that she has never even met. And most women never meet her, because they get stuck right there at believing, wanting, dreaming and planning. They believe, and then they wait. We're not doing that anymore. We believe, and then we're building. On purpose.
So yes, we're back with How I Do Things but better.

The New How I Do Things Rhythm
Tuesdays we build your money.
Thursdays we build you.
Sundays we sit down and get into the real stuff, faith and love.
Same big sister, just better, wiser and more motivated to build something real with you.
And here's the part I've been keeping to myself. How I Do Things is not staying a little show. I have a dream to build it into the biggest founder-led media brand on this continent. I mean that with my whole chest.
And I'm not building it in secret, I'm building it with you, because this show is not just about me, it's about us, a generation of women building and growing together.
I'm sharing every step with you, the strategy, the wins, and honestly the messy parts too. We're going all the way this time, praying and asking the Lord to show up. How good can it get. And my hope is that it motivates you to get into action too on whatever dream you have.
I'm not giving up on my dream. And I'm not about to let you give up on yours either.
We're in our spark era now, my Sista. LET'S GO!!!
How I Do Things Manifesto
Welcome to the New Season of How I Do Things
A note from Kopano: "If you've found your way here, you're likely in a season of transition, building, or my favourite word, Restoration.
For years, How I Do Things (HIDT) was about the surface-level 'how.' But life taught me that you can have the best systems in the world, but if they aren't built on a foundation of faith and self-worth, they won't hold. I went away to rebuild my own foundation, and I've returned to help you do the same."
What "Restoration" Means to Us:
"Restoration isn't just about getting back what you lost; it's about being made better than you were before. On this blog and my YouTube channel, we focus on restoring three critical areas of a woman's life:"
Your Wealth (Chelete Tuesdays): Moving from financial anxiety to financial authority. We don't just talk about money; we build systems to manage it.
Your Self (Self-Love Thursdays): Restoring the standard of how you treat yourself. This is the 'work' that happens when the cameras are off.
Your Spirit (Cosy Sundays): Grounding our relationships and our peace in faith. This is where we find the strength to keep going.
How to Use This Hub: To get the most out of this community, here is your 'HIDT Roadmap':
Watch: Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday on YouTube.
Download: Check the 'Show Notes' category on this blog after every video for the trackers, journal prompts, and checklists mentioned.
